My Whole Life

I was born to reflect the image of a God who is powerful enough to create my universe, attentive enough to hear my prayers and loving enough to be defined by self-sacrifice. I find my greatest fulfillment on a journey toward purpose and wholeness.

Lying

We hurt ourselves by lying. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 4:25, TLB. "Stop lying to each other; tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves."

The ninth commandment forbids lying. It's in the Bible, Exodus 20:16, TLB. "You must not lie."

Lying is not Christ like. It's in the Bible, Colossians 3:9-10, NIV. "Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

God hates lying. It's in the Bible, Proverbs 12:22, NIV. "The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in men who are truthful."

Liars are excluded from the presence of God. It's in the Bible, Psalm 101:7, NIV. "No one who practices deceit will dwell in My house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in My presence."

The dishonest are not allowed in the city of God. It's in the Bible, Revelation 22:15, TLB. "Outside the city are those who have strayed away from God, and the sorcerers and the immoral and murderers and idolaters, and all who love to lie, and do so."

We are liars if we claim to be Christians but don't obey. It's in the Bible, I John 2:4, TLB. "Someone may say, 'I am a Christian; I am on my way to heaven; I belong to Christ.' But if he doesn't do what Christ tells him to, he is a liar."

Hypocrites are liars. It's in the Bible, James 3:14, TLB. "And by all means don't brag about being wise and good if you are bitter and jealous and selfish; that is the worst sort of lie."

God will forgive. It's in the Bible, I John 1:9, "But if we confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. [And it is perfectly proper for God to do this for us because Christ died to wash away our sins.]"
